Housing Support Worker

Birmingham 37.5 hours per week Current vacancy

Provide comprehensive, confidential support that helps tenants sustain their tenancy and access the right services.

About the role

Working Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00, you will support tenants and help ensure their accommodation remains safe, stable and connected to wider opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Support tenants to sustain their tenancy and access leisure, education and training.
  • Respond to accommodation enquiries and assist with tenant onboarding.
  • Conduct health, safety and tenant-room checks and liaise with landlords about repairs.
  • Help tenants understand tenancy conditions, rent liability and anti-social behaviour requirements.
  • Manage utilities and negotiate improved rates where applicable.
  • Organise tenant feedback and community events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to meet tenant needs.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong written and spoken English, organisation and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Housing or social-care experience and NVQ Level 2 are desirable.
